The 2021 Revision: After 21 years I decided it was time to create an updated version of
the original Little Pink Book. The music is essentially the same, with better note spacing
and with chords placed below the staff, as is the custom for traditional music in Scotland.

There are three tunes per page, with two pages facing. These six tunes may be played in any order, and the musician can utilize as many tunes as desired for a particular step practice session or for a dance. Repeats are generally omitted in the reels and jigs except when a tune has four bars repeated, making up an eight bar phrase of music. This allows the musician to adapt the tune to fit a particular dance and to choose to play it either AABB or ABAB, or to add extra bars for longer dances 40 or 48 bars long. The absence of repeat marks makes that job easier.

In the case of Strathspeys, tunes are written as 16 bar tunes, and in most cases would be played twice to make up 32 bars of music, ABAB.
